Before I

Now onto some powerful techniques on how to
make money with Google Adsense that have helped me
generate $300-$500 a month and on occasion, much
more!

Techniques
=======================================================
Google Adsense has become a powerhouse of
advertising arsenal. Everyone is jumping on board
trying to utilize this advertising medium to make a
few extra dollars, in fact, in most cases it far more
than a few extra dollars.
Once you've created your free account you can
paste your customized adsense code into your website
and you're on your way to earning big bucks!
Unfortunately, there is just a tad bit more to it than
that, but if you follow what I'm about to tell you,
there's a good chance you can make more than you're
making now, so please read on.
Ad Formats
Wider ad formats generally result in higher
click through rates than do taller ads. Google
Adsense even points out that the following ads
generate more clicks:
160x600
300x250 336x280
Text links are also an ad format the works
well. Text link ads blend very well with your content
and navigation. One example of these ads would by the
'Link Unit 4 ads 120x90. There have been some website
owners that have seen more than 15% increase in
click-throughs with these ads, particularly if you can
seamlessly blend them with your own text.
Colors
Ads that blend in with the colors of your
site generate the highest click-through rates.
In most
cases, it is best to use the exact same color
scheme for your ads that you use on your web
site. However note that by using ads
without background color or
borders, your ads seamlessly integrate with your
content.
Also, the blue text links seem to perform
best for Google Adsense. Blue is the standard color of
links on the Internet. Therefore, viewers expect links
to be in blue and adsense is no
exception.
It's a good idea to rotate your colors every
once in awhile to add a little variety. This way, your
visitors don't get used to your ads, which can cause
ad blindness.
Using images
Perhaps you've seen sites that have images
above or around the Google Adsense ads. This is
another good way to increase revenues and many have
utilized this technique.
One of the most successful implementations of
this techniques is to use the 728×90 leaderboard with
4 thumbnail-sized images above each ad. You can see
some good examples at:
Keep in mind that Google does not allow
blinking arrows or obvious 'clickhere' text
around their ads, however it is acceptable to place
related pictures beside your ads or above the
ads.
Location, location,
location
Just as with an offline store, location is
key to Adsense success. Google helps us out in that
area with what they call a heat map that shows the
best spots for ads. This heat map indicates that the
best places for your ads are at the top left of the
page. This is probably because people are use to
seeing navigation on the left side of the page.
Another interesting thing to note is if you
draw a line on your page from the top right hand
corner to the bottom left hand corner, everything on
the left hand side of the line is seen first, the
right hand side if often ignored and virtually
anything on the bottom right hand corner is never
seen. So it's not a good idea to place ads or banners
there.
Forums
If you don't have a forum you might think
about starting one. It's an excellent way to
generate traffic, good page rank and sales to your
site.
But, you guessed it, it's also a great way to gain Adsense revenue. You can place adsense directly into your threads. Google's suggests that you place a skyscraper above the fold on the left side of your forum. They also suggest placing a leaderboard directly below the top navigation and below the first post.
Newsletters
If you publish a newsletter, then you could
easily earn more Adsense revenue whenever you send out
your newsletter. Simply link to an article on your
site within the email. This will entice people to your
Adsense pages and easily increase your Adsense
revenue.
This is one of the best things about building
your own list. You are able to direct traffic anywhere
you like.
These are really just a few of the adsense
techniques that can be applied to your online
business. However, in the end testing is where you
find out what really works for you. Your site is
unique to your business and what works for me may not
work for you, so test everything.
