You probably know that one of the best ways of getting noticed online and bringing added traffic to your site is to make useful, intelligent comments in places like forums and blogs. It's one of the better ways to gain recognition and generate traffic.
Making blog comments, in particular is one of my favorites but it can be very time consuming to find the right blogs. For instance, you want to find relevant blogs, you want to find blogs that accept comments and you also want to find blogs that don't use the 'no follow' tag.
Ok, so what's a 'no follow' tag and why is it important?
When the search engines see a blog that uses the 'no follow' tag they may follow the link to your site but they v render the link virtually worthless. The search engines will still follow your link but it will have no value. So, in terms of benefit to you, you want to find blogs that don't use the 'no follow' tag so that the search engines won't de-value your link.
Of course finding such blogs is very time consuming. But not any more! There's a cool little tool called 'Comment Kahuna' that I've been using for some timenot. This little tool helps you find relevant blogs, that don't use the 'no follow' tag.
You can download Comment Kahuna from this link.
http://www.portalfeeder.com/commentkahuna.php
It does require you to complete a registration but only requires your name and email.
Once downloaded you can enter your keyword phrase, the types of blogs you are looking for and the minimum page rank for the blogs you want. Once you completed that information, hit search and you will get all the blogs that meet your criteria. You can even set up a profile that contains your name, email and URL that automatically gets filled in for each blog you go to.
It's really a cool little tool which I use a lot. It will save you tons of time and make your blogging experience that much worthwhile.
One point to remember, …keep your blog comments relevant and interesting. Just posting 'what a great site' or 'love your site' won't help you much, most blog owners won't post such comments to their blogs or if they do get posted they'll soon be deleted. Make interesting comments that are useful, that generates thought and that people will appreciate.
