I had a question from a frustrated reader that said he had been all day researching keywords while trying to find a good niche to get into for an online business.
He found a lot of good niches but had trouble trying to decide which niche was the best. In his frustration he wanted to know how you actually decide on which niche to settle with?
Here's what you need to do…
Start by picking 2 or 3 top niches to start with, then ask yourself these questions about each one:
1. How will you make money with your niche? Will it be selling the products yourself, affiliate sales, writing e-books, dropshipping, etc?
2. How are you going to get traffic to your website?
Will you be running ads, blogging, writing articles, using forums, creating mailing lists, viral marketing, other?
3. Do you have experience or knowledge in any of the niches? Keep in mind that your experience and personal knowledge on a topic is optimal.
4. What are the top sites in that Niche now? How are they doing? How could you make your website better? How could you sell better? What might you do better to stand out among the competition?
Understand that some niches are better for certain products than others. Some may have products are better for reselling and some products are ideal for affiliate sales. Some niches you may need to create products or services for. So examine your chosen niche for how you will be selling the products.
Doing your keyword research plus answering these questions should help you come to a decision for settling on a specific niche.
